Welcome to Nest Nappies, the first dedicated cloth nappy store in inner city Brisbane.

Nest Nappies is a family owned business run by myself, Elizabeth and my husband Wally which we operate from a gorgeous little cottage close to our home in Paddington.

When our first daughter Savannah arrived in 2005 we knew our choice of nappy would be cloth and so we set out on the hunt to find the perfect solution.  Wally wanted something cost effective and environmentally sensitive whilst I wanted something easy to wash and dry, trim (to fit under all those tiny clothes I’d stashed!) and fashionable.  

After lots of searching, much confusion, and a great many on line purchases that weren’t quite right we gave up in frustration and went for cloth squares, all be it with very funky covers!  In the mean time we waited patiently for someone to open a “real store” where we could touch and feel a range of nappy types, compare brands and ask advice from experienced cloth users without needing an intimate knowledge of the “jargon”.  Sadly Savannah toilet trained whilst we were waiting!

After the arrival of our second daughter, Paloma (Polly) we decided to step in and fill this gap ourselves and in October 2009 we were thrilled to open Nest Nappies - which feels a bit like the arrival of our third child!

As members of the Paddington Green Precinct we are committed to making our business as ethical as we can and making the smallest foot print possible.  Our primary focus is to support local manufactures, small Australian business and overseas companies making ethical and environmentally sensible business choices.

We are a parenting friendly store, with many of our employees bringing their young children to work with them .  Everyone who works for us has first hand experience of parenting (or grandparenting) a baby in cloth nappies. We offer advice from our personal experiences as well as information from our amazing suppliers and network of local mums.
